Spring Mini: The Durk Family
Usually, I reserve my Spring mini sessions for Mamas and their little ones for mother’s day portraits. However, with the move, I decided to open my mini sessions for anyone who wanted to sign up. I was thrilled to see so many returning families sign up! I loved having the opportunity to get to photograph such sweet friends again. It’s been such a tug on my heart having to leave so many dear people that have entrusted me with such important life moments over the years. I don’t think I’ll ever be ok with having to leave my wonderful families. We had to spread out our sessions over the course of the weekend due to rain and wind. But the moments that we did have for photos, were absolutely gorgeous! Using these tools that God has given me to photograph such wonderful people in such a beautiful season was such an honor! I hope you enjoy these sneak peaks.
It’s funny the connections that a one year stint as a Starbucks barista has had for my photography business. I think that the connection to this beautiful Mama was that her mom used to work at Starbucks with a former co-worker turned friend of mine. In the photography world, it really all is in who you know. I was thrilled to meet someone new on my farewell mini sessions. These two were the sweetest couple and you could tell that they loved their little “Nola” with all that they have. I learned that their blue eyed baby was born at 29.5 weeks!! How amazing it was to get to photograph her on the eve of her first birthday. I can’t imagine their NICU stay. Even after just a short taste in our own story. But what a blessing to see a darling, healthy little girl despite a surprising (and tiny) start. I was so happy to meet this trio. Even though the wind tried to threaten us with it’s relentless gusts, I think their love still shines through in their smiles. Praying for sunshine for little Miss blue eye’s party!
